Porto de Dança: A Brief History of Club Culture in the City (1974–2023) mapped the past and present of Porto’s dance music culture, tracing venues, parties, DJs and promoters across five decades of nocturnal life. Presented as part of the themed programme After Hours: Clubbing on Film, the graphic piece charted the relationships and ramifications of a cultural ecosystem that has always maintained a close dialogue with emerging artistic movements. The exhibition also gathered memorabilia from private collectors, flyers, posters and tickets that formed part of the city’s collective memory. A project by Maria Ferreira, with research by Maria Ferreira and Rodrigo Affreixo, and graphic design by Nuno Maio.
